Can I pick someone as a backup (proxy)?
- The EPAF system does not provide an originator proxy feature at this time.
Can someone be an originator and an approver for the same transaction?
- Yes. However, it is discouraged that one person act as both originator and approver on the same transaction unless absolutely necessary. E-Reports are being developed which will highlight EPAF transactions in which this occurred.
Is there an EPAF role for only viewing transactions?
- Yes - the FYI role allows for a person to have full access to the EPAF transaction but not require his or her action for the EPAF to process.
When executing a termination of employment, EPAF TERM-E, do I still have to send a paper copy of the "Last Day Worked" form to Payroll?
- Yes - this notification to Payroll to stop paying this person will continue to be required.
- This form would be appropriate to be scanned into the Document Management System.
Why are EPAF Comments important?
- Best practice suggests that comments are very important to the success of an EPAF. Although not required by EPAF, we strongly encourage originators to include comments to clarify anything related to the transaction - supporting documentation, special explanations or directions, or any information that will assist reviewers (approvers) as the transaction moves along the routing queue. Ultimately, the use of the comments box will increase the efficiency and accuracy of processing EPAFs.
